Do we really need to be converted
On April 5th, 2009 ipg_200611 says:
What I believe is that IIIT gwalior should not be converted into IIT..IIITs are having their own identity and they are specialized institute of ministry of india. If we make them IIT their identity will be dissolved just like ROORKEE..which previously has its own importance. IIIT has potential students , funds and infrastructure to make themselves upto level of IIT.. but it would surely take some time.
IITs are brand because of their Alumni.
Once I met a guy in IIM-Ahmedabad his name was “Vaibhav Bhamoria ” h was ISM dhanbad passout. I just said that ISM should be converted to IIT ..he said that there is strong resistance from the Alumni as they dont want to liquefy the identity of being the best mining institute of india by making it IIT.
Government has plan to open around 15-16 IIIT’s all over india in different states ..this will surely give a momentum in the enhancement of the publicity of the IITs…And IIIT gwalior is the 1st among those IIITs…
